Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Struts, Inserts, Sport Springs, Suspension Kits

BILSTEIN

Comments:

I have sold literally thousands of Bilstein shock absorbers, strut inserts and strut assemblies  both through EPS and even before that working for a Bilstein Warehouse Distributor. I have seen a very small numbers of defective items, only enough to count on one hand!

It is important to mention though that I have repeatedly seen what was thought to be a defective  Bilstein shock due to a very rough ride, turn out to be over-inflated tires. I CAN NOT over emphasize the importance of properly inflated tires! I once sent a second pair of shocks to replace alleged defective ones, and then the customer wanted a third set. After begging him to check his tire pressure, despite the new tires and pressure set at a tire shop, he did and corrected the pressure levels, and all was OK. The first ones and the second set were both fine.

I have also seen way too many customers spend good money on inferior shocks because they did not want to invest in the best, Bilstein, and call back alter whining and moaning about how bad they rode, despite my prior coaxing to  buy the good ones the first time.

I have sold enough shock absorbers to say that Bilstein are the best, period!

Company:

Bilstein has always been a driving force in the development of automotive suspension technology. They introduced the world's first monotube gas pressure shock absorber and no other shock manufacturer has been able to equal the performance and enhanced ride characteristics or broad range of applications. From worldwide motorsports competition, to original equipment on the finest sedans, trucks, SUVs and motorhomes; Bilstein Gas Pressure Shock Absorbers have proven to be the best...unbelievable control, precise handling, incredible comfort and durable performance.

August Bilstein made a historic decision in 1954 by entering the automotive shock absorber business. They perfected the monotube gas pressure shock absorber, a new design which revolutionized the shock absorber industry.

Over the next 12 years, August Bilstein established 16 worldwide patents on the development of their monotube gas pressure shock absorber design. They worked closely with Daimler-Benz and in 1958 Bilstein became standard equipment on all Mercedes-Benz models, beginning an association that continues today.

To further strengthen their position with automotive manufacturers worldwide, Bilstein outfitted factory race cars with their shock absorbers to demonstrate their superior performance. This started an unparalleled record of motorsports success at racing venues the world over.

It was the racing success of Bilstein shocks at the famed Baja 1000 off-road race that eventually led to the formal presence of Bilstein in North America. Bilstein Corporation of America was established in 1972 with headquarters in San Diego, CA. An Eastern sales office and warehouse was soon added in Wallingford, CT.
