One of the most important factors in the successful installation of a rebuilt or remanufactured air conditioning compressor is the process, tools and changing of related components, like the receiver drier and expansion  valve. The MOST important factor is the A/C compressor you use in the job. I stopped selling rebuilt and remanufactured A/C compressors because of the repeated failures. Many times it was because of the mechanic and or the process, like the system was not properly cleaned.  Most of the time it was the inferior quality of the rebuilt compressor.

This was not as critical with the older York style and 6-Cylinder GM style compressors, but when the later compressors came on the market, problems followed when they came out in the re built market. One exception to this was the OEM Denso remanufactured compressors. The quality of the Denso new and remanufactured A/C compressors put me back in the market of selling A/C compressors again.

If the original compressor was a Denso design, I recommend ONLY replacing it with a new remanufactured OEM compressor from Denso. You will never be sorry. I also recommend the process include a new drier and expansion valve.
