Wen I started selling parts at a Mercedes and German part importer in 1981 Elring was the only gasket I saw coming in and going out. This was because Elring was the recognized leader and OEM product. We didn't need to carry many brands when we could carry the one we needed to.

Now there is Goetze, Reinz and others, OEM suppliers in their own right. I have no problem recommending any of those and other brands, but Elring will always be the first name in gaskets in my book.
