Everything began in 1914, when the search was on for answers to a law issued in 1909 by the German government, that specified two independent braking systems for every vehicle. As an improvement of the customary wooden brake blocks and leather covered brake pads of the time, an efficient brake strap was presented. Six years later, as one of the first suppliers, the company manufactured new, pressed brake pads under the name Jurid.

Jurid is now a brand of the Honeywell Company, since 2000. Jurid disc brake pads are developed on the basis of the demands and specifications of the vehicle and brake manufacturers. Statistically speaking, Jurid disc brake pads are fitted in every 3rd car.

The focal point for development is directed at environmentally friendly, green pads, for which we also use natural plant fibres, steel wool, rubber and resins. The exceptionally good noise level of their pads is a major factor for their quality.

For about 20 years, JURID has developed, manufactured and marketed measuring systems for brakes and brake pad testing worldwide.
